INSPECTION AND EXAMINATION OF WORK EQUIPMENT

Work equipment includes machines, equipment, facilities, installations, tools and other services that are used during the work process.

Preventive and periodic inspection and examination are carried out on the work equipment. By this inspections and examinations it is dedermined if the occupational safety and health measures, technical tegulations, standards and manufacturer’s instructions are applied.

All work equipment shall be subject to preventive inspection and examination prior to their use by the employees, after reconstruction or after damage, as well as prior usage on the new workplace and if work equipment is moved from one place to another.

Work equipment is subject to periodic examinations and inspections in the period defined by technical regulations and standards or defined by the manufacturer’s guideline, but no later than 3 years from the date of the last examination.

Temporary electrical installation with devices, equipment and accessories should be examined and inspected once a year, if construction takes longer than one year.

Periodic examination and investigation of work equipment in terms of legislation involves:

  • Crane and device with a lifting capacity of 0.5 tons; temporarily fitted console crane and winche with a capacity of more than 0.3 t, which are mechanized and used for lifting, lowering and carrying loads by steel wire rope or other kind of rope, chain, hydraulics and others.
  • Mechanized crane racks (in the rack corridor and out of it, tied to the rails or other automatic position) used for putting and taking palletes and material out of the racks.
  • Mechanized lifting platforms for lifting and lowering staff, with installed platform or basket
  • Hanging scaffolds, facade freight elevators and passenger elevators (except for elevators in residential buildings), which are mechanized and serve for lifting and lowering staff and materials on vertical surfaces of buildings, the facades of buildings, sites and facilities designed for working and auxiliary facilities
  • Self-propelled mechanical vehicles used for internal transport, cutting, pressing, compacting, bending and pulling materials, in which material for processing is inserted or extracted manually
  • Equipment for woodworking and processing of wood, plastic and similar materials, which is mechanized, placed on the foundations and in which material for processing is inserted and pulled out manually
  • Devices for spreading and drying coatings whose components, when in contact with air, form flammable and explosive mixtures, fumes and chemical hazards dangerous to employees’ health
  • Equipment or facilities for production, filling, measuring, and control, with pipelines for power supply, transmission and transport of explosive, toxic and choky gas fluids or liquids, other than natural gas, in facilities that are used as working and auxiliary space
  • Explosion protected work equipment used in technological processes
  • Temporary electrical installation with devices, equipment and accessories, which is set during the construction of buildings or performing other tasks
  • Work equipment (machines, devices, facilities, installations and tools) for which the employer stated the necessity of preventive and periodic inspection and examinations, by an Act on risk assessment.

EXAMINATION OF THE CONDITIONS OF WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Working environment refers to physical location, work places, jobs, working conditions, work behaviour and relationships during work.

The goal of preventive and periodic examinations of the working environment is to check and determine if the occupational safety and health measures, determined by regulations, technical regulations and standards are applied.

Examination of the conditions of working environment includes:

  • Microclimate (temperature, airflow velocity, relative humidity)
  • Lightning
  • Physical hazards (noise, vibration, harmful radiation-other than ionizing radiation)
  • Chemical hazards (gases, vapors, aerosols, fumes, dusts)

Examination of the working environment is done according to the Regulations about the procedure of inspection and examination of working environment (Official Gazette of RS no. 96/06 and Officia Gazette of RS no. 108/06).

INSPECTION OF PROTECTIVE INSULATION EQUIPMENT

Protective electrical insulation equipment is used while working in electro-energetic plants and it can be basic and additional.

Basic protective electrical insulation equipment is:

  • electrical insulation poles
  • electrical insulation pliers
  • voltage indicators
  • equipment for the high voltage work (pols, platforms …)
  • electrical insulation barriers and
  • poles for tighting electrical insulation barriers and other protective equipment whose insulation withstands continuous operating voltage of the electrical system in electrically conductive contact with charged parts.

Additional protective electrical insulation equipment is:

  • protective electrical insulation gloves
  • protective electrical insulation footwear (boots, shooes)
  • rotective electrical insulation flooring etc.

The aim of periodic testing is determining the quality of the protective electrical insulation equipment for personal protection which is used while working in electro-energetic plants in order to verify the level of the users safety.

The examination is caried out on the basic of standards and regulations which describe methods and criteria for examination of individual protective electrical insulation equipment.

Examination of protective electrical insulation equipment includes:

  • protective electrical insulation footwear
  • electrical insulation poles
  • protective electrical insulation gloves
  • electrical insulation flooring
  • voltage indicators

SERVICES IN THE DEPARTMENT OF OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HELATH

Organization of the services in the department of occupational safety and health in accordance with Article 37 legislation on occupational safety and health, the employer is obliged to organize activities for the occupational safety and health. Occupational safety and health activities may be performed by a person who has passed the examination in accordance with the law.

For the performance of occupational safety and health activities, the employer may appoint one or more of its employees or hire a legal entity or entrepreneur who has a license.

The employer decides on the organization of services for occupational safety and health, depending on:

  • technological process
  • organization, the nature and extent of the work process
  • the number of employees involved in the work process
  • the number of shifts
  • assessed risks
  • number of separated units
  • type of activity

Occupational safety and health officer is indirectly responsible to the employer where he performs these tasks and cannot suffer any consequences if he does his job in accordance with this law.

Obligations of occupational sfety and health officer are defined in Article 40 of the Law on Occupational Safety and Health ("Off. Gazette" RS no. 101/05).

Training of the employees for occupational safety and health

Training of the employees for occupational safety and health according to Article 27. Law on Occupational Safety and Health ("Off. Gazette" no. 101/05) employment or transfer to another job is done during the introduction of new technology or new work equipment, as well as changes in work processes that can cause a change of measures for for occupational safety and health.

Employee in the course of training for for occupational safety and health must be familiar with all the risks of the duties on which they he is apponted by the employer and the specific measures for occupational safety and health in accordance with the risk assessment act. Training for for occupational safety and health of the employee must be adapted to the specifics of his job.

Training in for occupational safety and health is carried out theoreticaly and in practice. Testing of theoretical and practical training of the employees on for occupational safety and health is carried out in the workplace.

Periodic proficiency testing for occupational safety and health of the employee who works in the workplace with a higher risk is made in the manner and under the procedure determined by a risk assessment act.

The goal of the training is taht the employees become familiar with their rights, obligations, responsibilities, and to learn about the risks in their workplace and in the working environment.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING OF THE EMPLOYEES

Vocational trainings of employees for performing various jobs and tasks also include the occupations that are not listed in the regular educational program. The training enables an employee to acquire all necessary theoretical and practical knowledge for good performance in terms of occupational safety and health.

WELDING

In the scope of "MD PROJECT INSTITUTE" activities Welding centar is formed in order to provide services (primarily testing of vocatinal trainin for welders, vocational training for welders and welding technology development), as well as to increase the quality of welding.

Welding is the process of joining materials (two or more metal parts of the same or nearly the same chemical composition) by melting or it is a technological process for obtaining monolithic permanent joints by making internal connections between particles (atoms, ions, molecules), with their local or overall warming, plastic deformation or combined of the two. By connecting an inseparable connection is obtained.

In the rance of welding work we provide the following services:

  1. Testing of vocatinal trainin for welders and issuing certificates of competency-according to to EN 287-1, EN 287-2, EN 13067, EN 13133, ...
  2. Vocational training for welders for specific welding processes (theoretical and practical training).
    Training consists of theoretical and practical training with a certain number of classes
    The following welding processes are included (*):
    111 - Manual arc welding coated electrode
    121 - submerged arc welding
    131 - Arc Welding in protective atmosphere of inert gas
    135 - Arc Welding in protective atmosphere of active gas
    136 - Arc welding flux cored wire protective atmosphere of active gas
    141 - Arc Wolframe electrode in a protective atmosphere of inert gas

    (*) – The stated welding procedures are done according to EN ISO 4063
    Theoretical and practical training is held at the center equped with modern welding machines including various basic materials of verifiedquality.
    Theoretical and practical training is performed by qualified personnel (IWE Welding Engineer and welding instructor).
    At the end of the training candidates receive the appropriate certificate of qualification about the vocational traing for welders..
  3. Testing of welded joints without destruction (visual inspection, dye penetrant testing and ultrasonic testing)
  4. Supervision of welding operations, coordination between client and contractor of welding works.
  5. Development of welding technology for all processes and materials
    • Production of welding procedure specification (WPS-STZ) according to current European standards (EN 288-2 and others)
    • Making Plans for welding for more complex welded structures
  6. Qualification of welding technology and issuing the report on the qualifications of the technology
  7. Checking the application of additional material
  8. Providing welding services, particularly in the areas of repair welding (damaged or broken engine parts, shafts, gears, castings, etc ...), welding, welding difficult weldable materials (cast steel, cast iron, alloy steel, etc ...).
